A YourLand Portrait engages you with the land that you love through art and the written word. Whether the land you love is your own or is entrusted to a preserve or trust, a YourLand Portrait project gives voice to the land’s beauty and spirit through a series of sensitively seen black and white photographic images and your personal stories of your land. 

The photographic images of your land are printed using the modern digital process of giclee printing. Your personal stories of your land are gathered in the oral history tradition and is then elegantly printed using the historical method of letterpress printing. If desired, environmental writings expressing your land’s beauty, informed with both cultural and natural history understandings, may accompany and mix with your personal words and stories. Together the images and text are bound within the covers of a handmade paper portfolio.

When combining the finely crafted, archival processes of giclee and letterpress printing with bookmaking materials of archival quality, you not only create a portfolio of your land’s beauty, you also create a family heirloom that will be appreciated and is passed from generation to another.

Or you may create opportunities for visitors and members of your preserve or trust to appreciate the beauty and sacredness found within the land that they are entrusted with.
